Mr. Metzger
Name: Glenn Metzger
Grades Taught: 3rd and 4th
Mr. Metzger also serves as the Athletic Director.
Born: Cincinnati, Ohio
Raised: Livonia, Michigan
Education: I attended WELS schools from first grade through college. I received my High School education at Huron Valley Lutheran in Westland, Michigan, where I graduated as the Salutatorian. I attended and graduated from Martin Luther College in 2009 with a B.S. in Secondary Education and a K-8 Minnesota Teaching License. I still continue to attend conferences, conventions, and classes to further my education.
Hobbies and Interests: My wife and I enjoy the challenges that come along with being new home owners and training two young dogs. During the school year, I try to relax with low-key activities like watching movies, playing video games, and reading, throwing in a healthy mix of exercise and basketball. During the summer we enjoy traveling to different parts of the country to see our widespread family and friends, as well as hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
What you like most about being a teacher and called worker: Being able to work with children in a Christ-centered atmosphere is a true blessing. It never ceases to amaze me how smart and talented children can be, the concepts they can understand, and the strength of their faith. See, as I call it, the "light bulb" moment is probably the second best part of my day, right behind sharing God's Word in devotion, prayer, and class.
Your message to parents considering St. Paul's school: Come and check us out. We offer a high quality education in a Christian atmosphere. The staff is a blessing to work with and we truly care about the academic and spiritual education of the students we are privileged to teach. God willing, when my wife and I have children, we will be thankful for the blessing to raise them in the family of believers at St. Paul's. |
