Mrs. Biersack
Grades Taught: Preschool Teacher and Director
Education: I received my regular education degree (1-6) from Wisconsin Lutheran College, my early childhood degree (3K-5K) from Wisconsin Lutheran College and Martin Luther College, and my special education degree (K-21) from UW-Milwaukee. I have state certification in all these areas.
Hobbies and Interests: I enjoy outdoor education, art, children's literature, and music. I have been an early childhood instructor for the Department of Parks and Recreation in East Troy for the past 6 years. I have been a 4H leader for 8 years and a Lutheran Girl Pioneers leader for the past 13 years. I am currently a Youth Group leader.
What you like most about being a teacher and called worker: I aim to have each child know well that we are all one of God's children and are dearly loved by Him for exactly who we are. He made each one of us and God doesn't make mistakes.
Your teaching philosophy: My teaching career, as well being a parent of three children, has taught me that every child is different, each given a unique combination of talents, personality traits, interests, and abilities. I strive to get to know each student well. Children will work incredibly hard for adults that they know truly care about them. Teaching young children means that learning should be active and multi-sensory. In my classroom, there is much time for games, music, excellent literature, hands on activities, language-rich discussion, and free play. The class day is highly structured with predictable routines and short, well-paced activities. I strive to never have a dull moment. Learning comes naturally to children who are having fun. Children are encouraged to progress at their own pace and independence is celebrated. The classroom should be a place where children feel secure, accepted, and supported. I believe that student with confidence can accomplish great things. |
